THE SCIENCE

Hypochlorous acid is a naturally occurring molecule your white blood cells produce to remove bacteria and defend the body against harmful pathogens. HOCl's cleansing properties help refresh the high-contact fabrics we face everyday while remaining gentle, non-toxic, and safe for everyday use.

No - and this is where most products fall short. HOCl is inherently unstable. Without proper stabilization, it degrades rapidly into salt water and loses efficacy long before the bottle is empty. The difference comes down to formulation inputs, production method, and packaging. Pharmaceutical-grade raw materials, controlled electrolysis, and stabilization procedures. Clean Matter brings together the best of every facet.

Most HOCl products are formulated for direct skin application. Clean Matter is the only brand built specifically for skin-contact fabrics. Clean Matter also uses pharmaceutical-grade raw materials throughout - double-filtered reverse osmosis water, USP-grade heavy metal-free sodium chloride, and zero additives or infusions that degrade the active molecule. Our HOCl is produced with patented stabilization technology and every batch is rigorously tested for pH, PPM concentration, and potency. Bottled in glass to prevent microplastic leaching and protect molecular integrity. No shortcuts. Complete transparency.

Yes. HOCl has a long clinical track record - it's used in wound care and skin-care. Dermatologists regularly recommend HOCl sprays for acne-prone skin because it helps cleanse, refresh, and deodorize without disrupting the skin barrier. The logic for Clean Matter extends that recommendation to the surfaces your skin contacts most.

HOCl lives on the same chemical spectrum as chlorine and naturally carries a faint, clean scent. Adding fragrances disrupts molecular stability, degrades the active, and compromises efficacy. No fragrance, no masking agents. The scent is faint and dissipates quickly on fabric.

SAFETY

Clean Matter is formulated as a fabric spray. Our concentration and pH are optimized for textile care. That said, HOCl is natural and non-toxic and incidental skin contact is not a concern.

Yes - this is where HOCl excels. Dermatologists recommend it for sensitive skin because it helps cleanse without triggering inflammation or compromising the skin barrier. Our formula is free from fragrance, alcohol, sulfates, parabens, dyes, and synthetic preservatives - the usual triggers. HRIPT-validated for non-irritating claims.

Yes. HOCl is produced naturally by the human immune system. Our formula contains no alcohol, synthetic fragrance, parabens, or harmful preservatives - making it safe to use on family bedding, kids' pillowcases, and shared fabrics. As always, those with specific medical concerns during pregnancy should consult their OB.

Clean Matter is safe for use around pets when used as directed - making it well-suited for the couches, pet beds, blankets, and shared fabrics your animals rest on every day. HOCl is a naturally occurring molecule produced by the white blood cells of both humans and animals.

YOUR ROUTINE

Daily use is the point - this works because of consistency, not occasional application. Mist your pillowcase (or other skin-contact fabrics) 3-4 times. Let it air dry. Done. General use: Any fabric that regularly contacts your skin - couch cushions, comforters, towels.

No - and we're not asking it to. Clean Matter supplements your daily routine between washes. Dermatologists recommend changing pillowcases every 2–3 days for flare-up prone skin. Clean Matter gives you that reset every night without the laundry burden.

No interference. HOCl is fast-acting and leaves zero residue once dry, so it won't destabilize your actives or alter their efficacy. It's completely inert by the time your face touches it.

THE PRODUCT

Clean Matter is safe on fabrics, including cotton, linen, silk, and performance materials. As with any new product, spot test on delicate or dark fabrics before first use. Alcohol-free, fragrance-free, dye-free, residue-free. Dries completely clear.

18-24 months from date of bottling. Store away from direct sunlight and sustained heat.

With daily use (3-4 sprays), the 150ml lasts approximately 4–6 weeks. The 60ml - roughly 2–3. Our subscription is calibrated to that cadence.

We chose glass intentionally. Glass is inert and non-reactive, meaning it doesn't interact with the formula inside. It's designed to help preserve formula integrity and stability over time and to avoid plastic leaching from the bottle itself. Our glass packaging also reflects our commitment to thoughtful, premium design and reduced plastic use.

Electrolyzed Water, Sodium Chloride, Hypochlorous Acid. No preservatives. No fragrance. No filler. The brevity isn't a gimmick. What sets us apart is the purity of those inputs: pharmaceutical-grade sodium chloride, double-filtered reverse osmosis water, 230ppm concentration and pH stabilized for skin-contact fabric care between 4.95-6.05.
